Director
Dear Mr.
Schumacher: Thank you for your recent letter and
materials concerning reserve law enforcement officers and efforts to
bolster the strength of our criminal justice system. I
appreciate having the benefit of your views and comments in this
matter. I am pleased to know of the availability
and willingness of your organization to further assist our nation's
Law Enforcement agencies in their efforts to battle the scourge of
violent crime in our communities. During my tenure in
Congress, I have supported measures which give our criminal justice
system the resources necessary to enforce our nation's laws while at
the same time ensuring that the taxpayer receives the maximum
benefit. As the Senate continues to consider alternatives for
reform in this area, you may be sure that I will keep your views and
comments foremost in mind.
I appreciate
having the opportunity to represent you in the United States
Senate. Thank you for taking the time to contact
me. Yours respectfully, PHIL

Another letter worth printing to Reserves
everywhere from President Ronald Reagan: From the White House: July 27, 1984
I
am pleased to send greetings to all those gathered for the annual
meeting of the Reserve Law Officers Association. The service
of your volunteers, who number more than a third of a million, is a
magnificent gift to the nation. Their example provides
concrete evidence that orginary citizens can involve themselves in
work that truly makes a difference in the kind of life their
communities enoy.
As you know, I have made every effort to
obtain enactment of legislation that will have a meaningful effect
on our ability to fight crime. We are stead-fastly working to
close the loopholes and redress the imbalances in our Federal
laws. I am happy to see that many states, counties, and
minicipalities have those same goals and are now beginning to have
some significant victories to show for their
determination.
Please keep up the good work. America needs
you and is proud of you.
Signed RONALD

Miscellaneous
Contacts From NRLO's secure web site server
company, "Go Daddy Software," NRLO named February success
story of the month in "Go Daddy eNews": (reprint)
"A Go Daddy customer built it - and they came!"
Leon Schumacher, Director of the National Reserve Law Officers
Association (NRLO) and a Go Daddy customer, shares this great
example of using our WebSite Complete(TM) software to build a web
site that drives organization membership: The National Reserve
Law Officers Association was established in 1983; it provides
Publishing and eTraining for Reserve Law Enforcement
Officers. The organization decided they needed a Web presence
to get their message out to the public and grow more steadily.
That's when NRLO found Go Daddy Software. NRLO used the
WebSite Complete(TM) software to build and implement a unique Web
site. NRLO is currently the only active national Reserve
association in the country. "Our Members are delighted with the
various interactive aspects of the site, and new members are coming
in," Schumacher told us. "WebSite Complete(TM) is easy to use, and
it is the most professional software that can be found.
Believe me, we had looked everywhere. We are thankful to the
folks at Go Daddy." Congratulations to Leon and his team at
the National Reserve Law Officers Association for their successful
site.
From University
Professor I. Thomas Sheppard, Ph.D. To NRLO using NRLO Contact
page "I am a University
Professor who had the good fortune to attend Chief Dalager's "Texas
Academy for the Prevention and Control of Extraordinary Violence"
circa 1985. This was before the program was killed for being
politically incorrect (it dealt with violence). I look forward
to your posting of some of Chief Dalager's material on the
web. Web Author note: In
NRLO's response to Dr. Sheppard, he was assured that the reprinting
of some of the late, Chief Dalager's speeches on training will
soon be on-line on the page called "NRLO's
Motto." Look for Chief Dalager's
special page link to review same which is coming
soon. (Chief Patrick Dalager was the NRLO Director of
Training until his death in 1995.)
