ICHTHUS: (pronounced "Ick' thus")
The word is Greek meaning "fish," but it
meant more than fish to Christians in the First Century when men and
women gave their lives in martyrdom rather than
deny Christ. Worship was
secret. They needed a sign by which to know
other Christians from Roman spies.

"In the
Line-of-Duty" Written by Donna
Layne Donna Layne is the wife of NRLO's
Chaplain, Dr. Michael K. Layne St. Paul,
Indiana
In Memory of Indiana State Trooper Andrew "Andy"
Winzenread who was killed by a truck, April 25, 1997, on I-74 near
Greensburg, Indiana
"In the Line-of-Duty" The newspaper
mast-head screams! Another life is over, A waste, or
so it seems.
The trucker that played that deadly
game Has taken one of our own, Leaving his wife and
little child Weeping in their home
Just a "routine traffic stop" Turned
into "policeman's tag," "See how close you can get to
him," But he goes home in a body bag.
The object of this silly game Is to see
his hat take flight, But no one ever expected him To
step into the road that night.
So, now, over six years ago This hero
gave his life, Leaving his child to be raised Alone by
his loving wife.
Who would have ever imagined That they
should fear truckers more than guns. Now the law has been
enacted To protect our fathers and our sons.
So, when you see those flashing lights
ahead And move over to the other lanes, Remember the
ones who've lost their lives To the truckers' deadly
games. ****************************************************

"Power of the KEY, the SHIELD, and
the "Fiery SWORD" Beverly Schumacher, November 30,
1992
Because God loves you, I
compose these words of hope and state this urgent plea; To unlock
the mystery of eternal life, you must first open your heart to find
the KEY. (IJohn 4;7-14)
(IJohn 3:1-3) (IJohn 5:11-13)
The KEY is your
belief in Jesus Christ as He is God's only begotten son; You must
confess your sins to Him before your battle of fear can be
won. (John 3:15-17)
(Matthew 10:32) (IITimothy 1:7) (Psalm 27:1-3) (IJohn
4;20)
As belief in
Jesus is your KEY, your faith will become your protective
SHIELD; By using faith for your armor, God's Fiery SWORD you will
aptly wield. (Psalm
91:4-7) (Ephesians 6:10-17)
God's Holy Word
is your Fiery SWORD, always keep it with you and keep it
keen; For we battle evil forces which smite us, even though they
can't be seen. (John
1:12,13) (Luke 10:17-20) (Hebrews 4:12) (IICorinthians 10:3)
(Ephesians 6:12)
The Holy Spirit
bestows believers with POWER for which we all search and
seek; His POWER can bind the strong-man and craft mighty warriors
out of the meek. (Colossians 2:10,15) (Acts 1:8) (Hebrews 11:1-3;33,34)
(Matthew 12:28,29) (Ephesians 6:10) (Luke
10:19)
Your crimson
sins can be washed by His blood - red sins washed white as
snow; After you've received Him, His POWER of love within you
defeats the evil foe. (IJohn 1:7) (IJohn 4:18) (Isaiah 1:18) (Revelation
1:5)
You must speak
aloud the Word of Christ and minister to all who stop to ask; As
many walk in darkness, lighting the path to the Cross shall be your
task. (Romans
10:8-17) (IITimothy 4:1-5) (IIPeter
3:3-5)
When two or more
gather to pray in Jesus' name, miracles abound in each
life; Never again are you to be alone in the struggle with
worldly turmoil and strife. (Matthew 18:19,20) (Acts 4:29-31) (Isaiah
41:10)
God's Secret
Kingdom is now at hand - to Earth the "King of Kings" will
return; He'll gather His flock to Heaven while on earth the fires
of hell rage and burn. (ICorin.15:51,52;55-57) (IThess.4:16,17) (Luke 21; 25-28)
(Revelation 1:6-8) (Revelation 19:11-16) (IIPeter
3:10)
On the Cross
Jesus died a painful death forgiving us always for our sin; He
now knocks at the door of your heart, desiring for you to ask Him
in. (Ephesians 1:7) (IJohn
1:9) (Revelation 3:20)
You laugh and
don't hear that eternal life begins when Jesus enters your
heart; God's Word promises glorious salvation only if from His
son we don't depart. (John
11:25,26) (Luke 6:46) (Romans 6:23) (IJohn 5:11-12) (Revelation
3:20-22)
When God's day
of judgment is upon us, and Jesus in His glory you will see; I
pray I don't hear you ask me this question, "Friend, why didn't you
tell me?" (Isaiah 56:1)
(Revelation 20:11-15)
