NRLO is proud to introduce
Deputy Joe Fiorentino of the Cook County Sheriff's Department.
Joe has received many awards and championships and has been inducted
into the "U.S. Marshall Arts Hall of Fame" in August,
2009. Joe said, "The number one rule I learned training at
Shidokan Chicago under Shihan Eddie Yoshimura and Sensei Duane Sharp is that in combat
sports, you "protect yourself at all times." Joe also
emphasizes that MMA, Submission Grappling, and Jiu-Jitsu are sports
with rules, time periods, and officials governing the action.
He said, "They should not be confused with the real life combat
situations that Law Enforcement Officers face every day."
Deputy Fiorentino and Sensei Sharp give hundreds of volunteer hours
to teaching self defense to the Cook County Sheriff's Department
Deputies, to Chicago Police Officers, and to community organizations
such as the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. Enter Deputy Fiorentino's Home page
