During its long publishing history,
NRLO's official publication, the "Reserve Law
OFFICER," (established
1983) accumulated many wonderful photographs. The photos
on this page are like a time capsule and only represent a very small
percentage of the photos printed in the past. Also shown
are some of the unforgetable "Reserve Law"
cover photographs and other
pictures provided by Otto Vehle (Retired National Director of
RLOAA). See if
your Unit/Department is profiled in NRLO's Photograph
Gallery. It's a walk down
"memory lane."

INDIANA - This
photograph was made during a visit by Otto Vehle (National Director
of RLOAA) and his wife Mary to Connersville, the County Seat of
Fayette County, Indiana. At right is Sheriff L. Max Huffman
with his wife, Annabelle, to his right. She was a member of
the Fayette County Sheriff Reserves along with (left to right) Board
Chairman Bob Dice, Vice President Dan Broaddus, and President Burt
Porter.
Vehle says that he will always remember a couple of
very interesting things about this visit. "First, Sheriff
Huffman and his wife were avid motorcyclists and were preparing
to ride their Harley from Indiana to Wyoming the following week on a
bikers' rally. Second, H. Max Walters, a reporter for the
Connersville News-Examiner, provided front
page coverage to my visit with the Reserves. He wrote about
me: "He travels about 30,000 miles annually. He is
accompanied by his wife Mary and their dog, Mitzi (Mitzie has a
special seat in the Vehle car.)" (The photo of
national director Vehle appeared on the back page, but Mitzi made
page one!)"
