your State District Representative and Senator to "voice your
opinion" on the vote on House Bill 1029.
Synopsis: Reserve Police Officer Training
requires after June 30, 2009, a Police Reserve Officer to
successfuly complete the basic training required for other law
enforcement officers in order to exercise police powers.
Prohibits a Police Reserve Officer appointed before July 1, 1993, or
a Police Reserve Officer who completed a pre-basic training course
before July 1, 2008, from exercising police powers after June 30,
2009, unles the Officer successfully completes the basic training
requirements.
Effective July 1, 2008
The
House of Representatives and the Senate reconvene on Thursday,
January 17
