HOW
TO BECOME A TELL CITY RESERVE OFFICER
The Tell City
Police Reserve Division always accepts applications. You must
first complete an application in its entirety. A criminal
back-ground check, drivers license check, and reference check is
then performed; and depending on results, the application will be
posted for 30 days at the Police Department. During this time,
any full-time Officer can reject the application for any
reason. If the application is not rejected, it is then given
to the Commander and Assistant Commander for review. If it
passes that, it is then voted on by the Reserve body. If and
when it is approved, it is then sent to the Tell City Mayor for
final approval. After hired as a Reserve Officer, each Officer
is required to complete at least sixteen (16) hours of service each
month.
