Have you asked yourself, "Why
all of the techy stuff late in life?" Constable
David Mason answers this, and more. Please check back.
In the meantime, NRLO is proud to

Constable David Mason
Check back to read
Constable Mason's answer to this question and any questions you
might have. Q:"With Windows
XP here, are the Law Enforcement, DOS-based computer data bases in
danger of becoming
extinct?"
Geek Speak means "computer
talk," and NRLO's new Geek Speaker is Constable David K.
Mason. Constable Mason of District 5, Henderson County,
Tennessee, is a forensic computer and high tech crime
specialist. Born and raised in Texas, he is the first to hold
office in Henderson County who wasn't born there. In this new
series, Constable Mason's "joy of learning" mentality is infused
into his writings. He talks to you in English on a complex
subject; and at the same time, before you know it, you're learning
something new because of his entertaining style of
teaching.
Constable Mason told NRLO,
"I'm a teacher; a person who has the ability to learn and then pass
on the knowledge, even while still actively engaged in the learning
process." Here's more on Constable Mason taken from his
latest e-mail to NRLO: "My plan, grandiose as it may
be, is to translate all of the gibberish (computer
language) into English and then use our common language to pass
the knowledge on to Law Enforcement; Good luck to me, right?"
He continued, "Now I need to go outside and clear a
field. I live this incredibly contradictory life. One
hour I spend translating hexadecimal, and the next hour I spend
outside pulling weeds and tending critters. Farming
and computers work for me, sort of a point-counterpoint way of
using my brain."
Be sure to come back to
learn more about Constable Mason, and learn more about "Geek
Speak" in "Computer
Talk." This web page is under
construction, but more will be added very soon.
