National Reserve Law Officers Association Serving Reserve/Auxiliary Officers for over 24
years
Each year, Law
Enforcement Departments commission thousands of new
Reserve/Auxiliary Officers. Trained Volunteer Law Enforcement
Officers are exposed to the same hazards as Full Time Officers while
on duty with very little, if any, type of in-line-of-duty accidental
medical insurance, disability, and death coverage.
For over 24 years (since 1983) National Reserve Law Officers
Association (NRLO) has provided Members with training
information and services plus the best, most extensive, and
lowest cost in-line-of-duty Accidental Insurance
Coverage available. This web site provides
Reserve/Auxiliary Officer information not found anywhere else.
(Check back often)
NRLO service is based on a combined
experience of over 200 years of Reserve/Auxiliary Law
Enforcement in the United States which includes Director Leon
Schumacher's 40+ years of experience. NRLO aids in
monitoring Reserve Law Enforcement legislation and in gathering,
assimilating, and disseminating Reserve Law Enforcement Officer
information. NRLO does not act as a bargaining agent.
Because NRLO's Members and Member
Departments are located in all 50 states from "border to
border" and from "coast to coast," NRLO generates information on
this country's "ULTIMATE VOLUNTEERS" which cannot be
obtained from any other source.
Publishing: NRLO's official publication, "The Reserve
Law OFFICER," is on-line under
"Publishing." The publication pages are updated regularly as
articles, photographs, and information are received.
Publishing is continually under construction and updated.
If your Unit is not profiled on these pages, let us know.
Benefits and
Services: NRLO provides important, added
financial security for its Members and their families should a
Member have an accident while on duty through
in-line-of-duty, accident medical insurance, disability coverage,
and accidental death payments at the lowest cost with the
maximum amount of benefits. (NRLO's
benefits and insurance coverage are the same whether you join as an
individual or as a group ).
If your group already has in-line-of-duty insurance, consider
letting NRLO's policy cover what yours might not.
NRLO
eTraining - NRLO's "eTraining" and
FREE Basic
Education Series is hosted by NRLO Director of Training,
Captain Chuck Mantkus, and is offering the latest training and
updated information available by experts in many fields of interest
to Law Enforcement Officers. NRLO's "Contact NRLO"
form allows Reserves to get questions answered or give
information about their training of choice from the people who
are experts in their fields (see Guest Editors/Authors/Educators).
"If NRLO doesn't have the answer, we know
who does."
- NRLO
is now provides notices of training and
educational seminars and classes available across the
country through its "Conference" page and "Advertising" page and "SOS Bulletin
Board" page which are FREE. Departments,
training authorities, providing companies, and educational
centers are asked to submit their notices.
- NRLO also
provides an avenue to on-line, real-time
classes/lessons hosted by state-accredited training
commissions / providers / companies. An Example: Texas Commission on Law Enforcement
Officer Standards and Education's (TCLEOSE) new, on-line
Training Portal. Click here for more
information). Also refer to the North Carolina Justice Academy
(NCJA) . All state-accredited
training commissions / providers / companies, certified Training
Officers, and Training Academies are invited to make use of
NRLO's Conference
page and Training
Authority pages (listed by "state"). Be sure to
let NRLO know about your upcoming activities.
- Interactive web
pages will be continuously added which will
profile Reserve and Auxiliary Unit Departments and
individuals. These pages are provided for NRLO
Members, NRLO "eTraining" Members, and to other authorized
visitors. Click here for an example of an interactive web
page.
- Each state's
Reserve Law Enforcement Officers training standards
and education requirements change from time to time.
Links to the latest rules and regulations are listed on the
"State
Requirements" pages. State Reserve/Auxiliary
associations and other important Law Enforcement
Associations and Departments are being added to these
pages for your convenience. NRLO supports state
Reserve/Auxiliary associations, so should you. If your
state is not yet listed, let NRLO know that you want to see
it soon; and be sure to check back to see new
listings. Click here for an example of a state association
posted on this site.
